Having left college in 1981 I worked as a junior programmer for the stock broker Wood,MacKenzie & Company. This was followed by a period in Essex working as a programmer for Coral Racing. Having returned to Scotland I took up employment with the software house Clydeport Data Management as an analyst/programmer. At this point I was head hunted by the Scottish Development Agency and empoyed as a systems programmer; rising to systems programming manager at the age of 28. The next phase of my career saw me entering in to the freelance field where I was employed by IBM Netherlands and UK for 10 years as a freelance; systems programmer, network systems programmer within the Netherlands and as a freelance analyst/programmer in the UK.
My employment history has seen me working in diverse areas of computer hardware, applications and software; ranging from ICL to IBM, from investment rate of returns to operational system software support through to the NetView product range support.

Education: BSc(Hons) in Psychology, Higher Diploma in Computer Studies, Certification in Web Application Development and Certification in Social Science (Understanding Social Change).
